HostHero makes a conscious effort to provide energy-efficient services to our clients. Here are many of the ways we try to make a difference to the environment:
Energy Efficient Hardware
Our virtualized hosting technology allows us to use less hardware without compromising the quality and reliability of our servers. For example, instead of installing sixteen 1GB RAM sticks in a server we install four 4GB RAM sticks -- promising the same computing power while reducing power consumption by approximately 30 watts per server.
Energy Star Qualified Equipment
We've invested in Energy Star-qualified products in our efforts to go green -- from the fridge in our lunchroom to the laptops on our desks! Equipment that has been Energy Star-certified is designed and thoroughly tested to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.
Proactive Approach and Commitement
We are pro actively seeking to reduce cost at every opportunity: the cost of power, cost to the environment and cost of our overall hosting service. We have recieved numerous awards from reputable hosting review sites for our commitement to make green hosting a standard in every aspect of our business.
Reducing Through Telecommuting
Most of our employees have the option of telecommuting from home. Studies have shown that telecommuting even half the week can reduce employees' energy consumption for work by the equivalent of 5,400 KWH a year.
Recycle, Reduce & Reuse
At HostHero we pay attention to waste management. The three Rs - recycle, reduce and reuse are practiced in our office. Aside from reusing and recycling office materials, we also compost biodegradable products and use community recycling services when possible.
Every Step Counts
At HostHero, we know that every step counts in improving our relationship with Mother Nature. Our code of conduct suggests employees bicycle, carpool or take public transport to work. Our lunchroom features coffee from sustainable sources that put workers first, and most of us also pack lunches in reusable containers. We believe that change starts in the workplace.
Green Office Ethics
In order to reduce paper usage, we enforce strict recycling practices in our offices and ensure paperwork is printed only when required. All unnecessarily printed paper is sent to recycling bins within the office for future reuse. We also ensure all equipment is powered off when idle and when not at the desk.
What Our Customers Say...

'I recently moved over from a shared hosting provider who kicked me off for excessive cpu usage, since moving my site is faster and up more and best of all, no suspensions'
